It’s a boy for soccer phenom Cristiano Ronaldo! Apparently it was a secret that he was expecting—and the baby’s mother is a secret, too.

 

Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed the attention of U.S. soccer fans during this year’s World Cup and is sure to make big news with this announcement. According to the article I read at The Guardian, the mom is a North American and Cristiano will be raising the baby on his own.

 

Here’s the announcement from Cristiano’s Facebook page:

“Cristiano Ronaldo It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become father to a baby boy. As agreed with the baby’s mother, who prefers to have her identity kept confidential, my son will be under my exclusive guardianship. No further information will be provided on this subject and I request everyone to fully respect my right to privacy (and that of the child) at least on issues as personal as these are.” my right to privacy (and that of the child) at least on issues as personal as these are.

 

No word on the baby’s name. Cristiano Jr.? Good luck to the new dad!
